, down through mississippi and parts of western tennessee and up to kentucky and ohio, will be moving into the northeast. as far as flood warnings, portions in louisiana. red is flash flood warnings and we do have flooding going on. if you doing traveling in parts of the northeastern louisiana and mississippi, please be careful and do not drive through flooded roadways. we do have flooded roadways across western parts of kentucky and northern parts of ohio. how much more additional rainfall are we talking about? look at the shades in yellow and orange, still four inches expected because what this front is going to be spreading light rain in portions and in through tomorrow morning. keep that in mind for monday morning commute. it will stay stalled in places like mississippi, tennessee, virginia and north carolina. so you'll be dealing with it next several days coming up this workweek. we have a stretch across portions of the southeast. on western side of the storm system, very cold across northern plains, 8 degrees in minneapolis, 19 at rapid city and that cold air is here to stay. ge

more on what that twister left behind in a moment. so one person died as did a man in tennessee who we now know is 47-year-old vernon hartsell. he was killed when a tree fell on to a shed that he was inside. miguel marquez has more on the devastation and the cleanup. what can you tell us? >> good morning. we're not very far from where that man died. apparently a tree fell on a mobile home he was in. that's where he was killed. this is a storm that packed a 1,000 mile punch. >> we can see circulation in the clouds. >> reporter: a reporter from atlanta affiliate wsb caught one twister as it touched down. >> towards i-75. >> reporter: in its path, utter destruction. this is main street in adairsville, tornado tornado. you can see devastation on that side of the street. the trucks completely destroyed here. on this side, it was a normal day of work at this plant, they come here to make parts for tractors. complete devastation. 50 to 100 poem working here today. all of them fine. across this entire area, trucks, everything, shredded. at the plant, justin karns and his fellow employees took

and dangerous storm is moving from the south. it hit eastern missouri arkansas and tennessee. homes were damaged trees and power lines knocked down thousands lost power. >> the front stretches from texas to the northeast. one man has been killed in nashville and the storm also left its mark across indiana. reporter jessica hayes of wish-tv is in indianapolis. >> reporter: we're on the north side of indianapolis. this area is usually busy with computers and shoppers but straight line winds brought down a couple different power lines, one the worst damage you can see right here snapped off at the base and landed on top of this canopy of this costco gas station so this is closed. you did see damages on the west side of minneapolis, winds up to 60 miles an hour and if you go to the southern part of the state south of bloomington, indiana, a possible tornado touched down there, up to 20 homes have damage and the national weather service is on their way to determine if this, in fact, was a tornado. here we've got power crews are going to have a busy day here and around

is going to sit over louisiana, through arkansas and eventually push into kentucky and tennessee and stay there for a while. it's not moving east ward all that quickly. and you can see the heavy rain and thunderstorms all across the gulf coast. right through louisiana. stretching right up into northwestern parts of mississippi as well. and a closer look shows you just how much lightning is associated with these thunderstorms as well. it's just streaming in off the gulf of mexico. and that is going to allow perhaps two to four inches of rain to fall in this area. and again, that's over the next 48 hours. and it will slowly spread eastward. that's a look at the weather across the country. now, here's a peek out your window. >> the new york city is 48 degrees. not bad, above average. we're also looking at temperatures today to top out in the upper 50s. and charlotte north carolina, looks pretty did there. minus a couple showers in orlando, florida, 81 degrees. >> so really the entire east coast enjoying above-average temperatures. florida's about 10 degrees above average. >> i love it when y

of tennessee. icing on the trees can cause power to go down and we talk about a half inch on some of the roads that means those roads become a solid sheet of ice as my mom would say. temps as you are waking up. cold across yeaforts north. not as cold as it was. 3 in minneapolis. the east is is going to look pretty good behind this storm system as far as precipitation goes. big storm out across parts of the west. southern california and arizona. this is one storm, there is another one in towards the pacific northwest. those will be weather makerrers across the central plains and eventually the northeast. take a look at the fiewrd, what this storm does it pulls out here into parts of the plains. by tomorrow you see that big area of pink, that's an ice storm potentially that we are talking about tomorrow and tomorrow night in across places like saint lewis and chicago and detroit. now, typically we see snow here. we don't see ice storms. incredibly dangerous. much more dangerous than a snow storm. big problem we are dealing with here. potentially seeing some of that ice maybe making its way in ph
